  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Just ordered a xikar executive single torch in the mean time. Waiting and trying to decide still on double. Really liking the ones that angle towards each other

I have the Bugatti B-2002 that has dual torches, and they angle towards each other. Unfortunately, I can not recommend it as one of the torches died about two weeks after I purchased the lighter.

I'm really hoping to pick up a Liga Prigada EXII soon. It's a torch lighter, but has a "soft" flame, kind of the best of both worlds. Gives of more heat than a traditional candle flame, but a little more controlled for better toasting of the foot.

I never leave house without my Zippo torch insert ($12 on amazon) or my Ronson Jetlite ($4 at any gas station/drugstore). Cheap and reliable.

So I'm a cigar accessory nut and have a weakness for lighters. I just took pics (not very good ones because of the lighting) of all of my dual flame lighters. The top row left to right is a Bugatti, Nibo Royal 66, and a Lotus lighter. Bottom row is a Xikar Element, Xikar XTX double and Xikar Enigma.

All are nice (with the Nibo fit and finish below the rest and the Lotus fit and finish above the rest).

I'm heavy on fuel as I light the cigar completely by toasting so I get less cigars lit from a full lighter than most. With that said, I can get about 9 cigars lit with the Xikar XTX, about 7 with the Xikar element, about 5 with the Xikar Enigma, about 4 with the Nibo. Flame height wise, I like my flame adjusted near the middle and not turned up too high.

The Lotus and Bugatti lighters are newish so no numbers on how many cigars they can light, but I have lit 5 cigars with the Lotus and still see a decent amount of fuel in the tank (my guess would be around 8-10 sticks for the Lotus)

Flame height on pics does NOT necessarily indicate how tall each lighter's flames can go or the height I usually use them at as each lighter's flame adjustment height was random.

You sir are who I hoped to reach out to!

Obviously by sight the lotus looks incredible as the finish along with the angled torch.
My question for you would be what do you think of the vertical dual flames against the angled dual flames of the Lotus?
I'm currently coming from multiple "pyramid" triple flames and a few single torches so am hoping to find a happy medium.
In truth do you think the Lotus is worth it in comparison to an angled lighter similar to the Trezo III?

Thanks man I'm a huge lighter fan my self and getting into the collection department!

you may want to check out my favorite new lighter, the dictator, by black label which is by lotus. it runs around 140 though i think you can find it 20-40 dollars less online.

Its a flat flame lighter and will give you a similar result to the dual torch.

That lighter is gorgeous! Haven't heard much about the flat flames honestly. Care for a bit of a review in comparison? How's the accuracy & wind resistance?

You're welcome my friend. I have been impressed with the angled dual flame on the Lotus/Bugatti but in use it functions more like a broader stronger single flame than it does a typical non angled double flame.

The Lotus has an extra feature (and is pretty cool) in that the flame is also angled away from the lighter...this helps pevent any debris from the cigar dropping onto the lighter burner as the cigar isn't directly over the burners when being lit. The Lotus also has a cigar punch on the spine and cool orange accents around the burners. My lighter love has gone overboard and I'm looking to create a blog soon where I can discuss every lighter (and cutter) I have in detail.

Well ended up getting a great deal on the Xikar Executive single flame...I am in love!
This lighter is amazing, i also picked up the Xikar MTX scissors and they cut in the realm of the $150+ Donatus Solengen cutters i use at work.

Couldn't be happier with Xikar this far and plan to pick up a dual (or the Trezo) from them soon!

Nice choice! If you are going to look at the Trezo, I would also recommend looking at Xikar's newest release Ellipse III @ $10 less or the new Pulsar (same cost as Trezo). Pulsar has a cigar punch, Trezo does not. Both offer a better value IMO vs. Trezo. I have done full reviews of both recently on my website. My opinion comes from hands on experience. Don't get me wrong the Trezo is very nice, but is an older model. Also, Trezo is two steps to ignition vs. one.
Hard to go wrong with Xikar, enjoy your new lighter and cutter!

My site is www.cigarlighterreviews.com You might like the Ellipse if not interested in the punch, very smooth thumb action lid. Though, Trezo is a classic, can't go wrong either way.
