Ebony Pipe

Was in Eithiopia for a day last week (transiting home) and found this cool hand carved pipe made of ebony...

no idea how it smokes yet.. but I thought it was pretty cool (and unique) so I picked it up.. thought I would share..

Its a little bit rough inside.. you can tell they dug it out with some sort of a hand tool.. but I think I can clean it up nice with my dremmel and a rotary sanding head...

and I probably paid too much for it.. I just didnt feel like bartering/haggling.. which is part of the culture.. they almost always ask about double what they are willing to take.. and expect you to spend 20 minutes fighting with them over the price..

I figured for the $20 asking price it was worth buying and not arguing over it :wink: .... worst case scenario it smokes poorly.. and it just goes on display with the other 3 or 4 pipes that I never smoke (Ive got a half a dozen pipes sitting in a display box... but really only smoke 2 of them.. the rest of them get picked up about once a year (or less)... )..

Ill be headed back through there in another 90-120 days.. if it actually smokes decent (Ill report back after I have had a chance to break it in a bit).. and any of you guys would like one.. let me know and Ill pick up a handful on my way back home for you..
