JC Newman El Baton Double Toro 6x60
Wrapper: Nicaragua Maduro
Binder & Filler: Nicaragua
Time in humidor: about 2 weeks
This cigar had a nice sweet medium maduro aroma to it with a hint of chocolate. From the start, it was a medium body with smooth dry smoke and hints of cocoa throughout. About halfway through it got a little bitter, but it smoothed back out toward the end. The smoke lasted a bit over 1 hour 40 minutes, long enough to make it through the lunar eclipse I smoked it under. I was a little dizzy afterward, so medium-strong strength, which makes sense for a log of a cigar like this one. Ash held on for an inch to an inch and a half. I did have to tourch up the burn, but I seem to have to do that with every cigar I smoke, so I think my technique may be to blame.
Overall it was an enjoyable smoke, and given it's long burn time, worth the price I paid. It wasn't one of the best, but above average, I'd say.
