Picked this one up from Sean at the show and the first thing I noticed was the wrapper smelled just like the Liga Miami. No sooner than I thought that, Sean mentioned it was the same Ecuadorian wrapper just a different blend. Rolled in Calle Ocho, featuring a Nicaraguan Binder and a Nicaraguan and Dominican filler. Sean is an extremely friendly guy and I was looking forward to trying this one out.
Prelight was hit with a blast of spice. Construction is very nice with minimal veins. Nice firmly packed cigar.
Once lit I got that spice and cedar with a hint of pepper to the retrohale. Good flavor, medium strength and medium body.
Second third is the continuation of the first third. Flavor is good, nothing overly complex, with the cedar picking up a bit and the spice staying consistent so far. Liking it so far.
As I get to the final third I have found I have enjoyed this cigar and it was an evenly balanced smoke with a long finish. Wasn't very overly complex but the flavor it had was great. Burn and draw was solid and the light gray ash held for about an inch before falling off. I could see this cigar making the rotation, just not sure if I am in any hurry to buy a box just yet.
