Ok this is my first review and I am still a noob so go easy on me boys. I was bombed and got this El Triunfador from Blooz4me.
This cigar had a pretty decent prelight draw and was very well constructed. The cutter I used was my Xikar carbon fiber and the lighter was a cheapo colibri.
After the cut.
The intial taste was kind of fruity and sweet tasting. After about a half inch or so it started to pick up with a little bit of spice and pepper.
This is a smaller vitola than I'm used to so it produced a little less smoke than I like and I found myself puffing a little harder than I normally do to try and get more smoke.
After te first third the sweetness went away and the cigar seems to be growing in strength. It held a very nice and firm ash for such a small ring gauge. The burn was perfect, and at this point I figured I needed some rum to go along with it.
You have to love the fact that the rum and the cigar are way nicer than the ashtray, but hey I live in the ghetto so I can get away with it. The cigar was going nicely and had just the right amount of burn on the retrohale.
In the final third it really mellowed out and the spice went away. The only real flavor I could determine was kind of woodsy, and it continued to be a great smoke right down to the nub.
Overall this was a pretty good smoke and it makes me want to experiment with other sizes I have not tried before. I would give this cigar an 8 out of 10.
