  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

It has been a while since my last review, so don't laugh at me too hard :peace:
Size: 5 3/8 x 52
Smoke time: 2 hours 20 mins ( I smoke slow)
Drink: Dark Roast coffee
Burn and draw: Excellent. Ash was a bit flakey when more than 3/4"

The pre-light aroma was all raisins and sweet, aged, cured tobacco.
First third:
The opening draws were a flavor assault in my mouth, I immediately was grabbed with a crisp sensation that I have felt before when smoking a Short Run from last year, and it was a refreshing change from almost every cigar.
I started getting a deep tobacco, and light carmel/hickory smokey flavor with a nice tannic kick at the back of my mouth like a nice Cabernet. The first third didn't transition or back down, it was medium-medium/full.
Second third:
Not much change. A little less power, but a slight build up in spice; a nice hot paprika type spice, not a cayenne type spice ( it is there, but in the background and unassuming). That crispness is still around, and making my mouth water.
Last third:
Starts out the same as second third, but the last inch and a half are all roasted almonds with the carmel/hickory smoke mixed in. For a few puffs, I was getting a dark fruit mixed in; like black cherries.

Wrap-up:
Rating: excellent; would buy these again in a heartbeat. One of the best sticks I have had this year.
Would I buy a box: ....read above ^
Recommendation: a little bit of overkill for entry level smokers, but not too much that they would chuck it. I think the seasoned smoker would enjoy the subtle nuances a little more.

Great review! I have one or two of these in the humi but haven't smoked one before. Sounds like I should dig one out soon!

Awesome review, Canada! I have a couple of these sitting around the humi... Sounds like it needs to be next in the "on deck" circle! Thanks for the great pics, and for sharing!
