An iconic Virginia/Perique blend, coin spun and sliced for enjoyment. This blend, when fresh, smokes a bit spicy in the Perique department-nice for a punch to the palate. When you rub out the coin, the Virginias are the main player but rolled and stuffed, the Perique takes center stage. I prefer to roll the coin, fold once and stuff the "v" portion down into the pipe. Once aged, Escudo, develops a much smoother profile with a heavier note of raisin/fig and sweeter Virginias. I enjoy both the aged Escudo and fresh for the differences- both are great and this blend should be in anyone's cellar that enjoys Viriginia/Perique blends.

Thanks for the review. I'm about 3/4 through a tin I picked up in December. I dig it but may pick up more to tuck away for a while. How long before the fig/raisin develops do you think?

i've never tried the fold and stuff technique with this one. I'll give it a go next time I smoke some.

The longer he deeper the raisin/fig. Even a year makes a difference
