just to get this out of the way: corona viva.
A2 is a 6x46 corona gorda (measured at a solid 6"), uniform rich dark brown just south of black, a smooth and appealing look, good tooth, and a slightly florid and perfumey aroma off the body. dunno, might be my aftershave. the clean cut gives a wide open prelght draw, barn and whit pepper making me lean more to a mexican san andreas wrapper.
so it starts immediately with just huge gouts and plumes of smoke, hitting with white pepper and pime wood on the sinus, oils bubbling up from the burn line, and a creamy velvety texture. there is cocoa powder and nutmeg in the profile, and it is resting at med-full on me. yup, viva.
midway there is some leather and caramel. smoke production is still I the cartoonish realm, and it is a joy to watch the oils bubble up around the dead even burn. seriously, there is eyeliner burn, then there is this, like cheese melting out of an over-large sammich and crushing in the pan. you ONLY get this kind of burn by and large on liga product. i am smoking this thing too quickly, it is just mesmeric between the burn and the smoke, but the profile seems forgiving. o)
there is a molasses sweetness in the a$$ half, and a chalky quality rears it's head after hanging in the background. it's a textural note, and not off putting; if anything it serves as a reminder not to eat the cigar. the smoke production never let up a bit, and it ended at the near shores of full.
all in all, this cigar was a corona viva. there is no getting around it; the burn, the smoke, and the flavor profile are all unavoidable. but that's cool, as this cigar, at the price point and as a regular production, is a mainstay in my stash, and many others' as well. score of 92, i would consider soy milk over 2% to keep this in rotation. if it is NOT a cViva, i will eat one. seriously.
thanks!
