Do you have a favorite cigar do drink with red wine? Or a cigar you pair with certain red wine varietals?

Syrah?

Cabernet Sauvignon?

Petite Sirah?

Barbera?

Zinfandel?

Merlot?

Pinot Noir?

Into both wine and cigars, so just curious?

Zins are usually the best by "standards". Heavy body and long legs. It is hard for a Pinot Noir for example to be bold enough to match even mild cigars in the palate. That said, drink what you like. I will be an official taster for you:agreesmil

Well I totally disagree. It all depends on the type of wine your drink. Try a Jayson Pinot with your favorite cigar and you won't be disappointed. It's a bigger, bolder Pinot and you will be blown away by it. Try a big cab or meritage/red with any cigar and you'll be happy. It all depends on the price you want to pay. Try a 2 buck chuck and swisher sweet, who knows you might be happy. But give me a good vino of any variety and a I can par it with a good smoke no problem. It's more about the taste of the two then the varietal of the wine. With that said don't be shy, try and you will find the right paring for you. After all it's all about what you like not what others think.

to me most wines are still too fruity to pair with cigars (yes, even dry oaky Cabs). The flavors get all muddled up. I prefer a tawny port to any red wine.

My favorite lately is a Shiraz actually. Though a good Cab is always welcome, my favorite being Steltzner Reserve...mmmm, delish!
