  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Finally!

Well now...last night I had a first. I packed up a little Dunhill Nightcap and only had 3-4 relights. More importantly, my tongue doesn't feel like a burnt raccoon crawled onto it and died.

Unfortunately, the campfire room note may force this one to stay outside.

dude, glad you found a winner! thing is, english, especially big lat-forward balkans, give a TON of flavor but burn very cool and even, by and large. common sense seems to be start with lighter or milder blends, but that's often wrong. like starting someone out with light-bodied cigars, and they puff that shit like a chimney to get any flavor, starting with an aro usually leads the NFG to work too hard, and turn an otherwise benign smoking device into a flame thrower.

don't sweat the relights. smoking "all the way down to ash on one light", while cool, and good for technique, is just bragging rights. multiple lights are part of piping. more important is actually getting flavor out of the smoke, and that you enjoy the overall experience.

Rut ro, sliding head first down this slope. Once things start to click. It is a really enjoyable hobby.
Yup, I'm screwed. Two things I give in to without fight: peer pressure & compulsive tobacco purchases.

I'm already trying to find a Morta bent poker, and a bunch of other crap I don't need.
Don't mind me, just pouring gas on a fire.

It's a Becker. If you're looking for a Morta, you'll be hard pressed to find someone that does them better IMHO
