  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

so last year I made the dumb mistake of leaving my fishin rods under my grandparents house who live on the harbor. I went over and got em about 2 months ago and what do you know they are corroded so bad that the reels dont move an inch. yea i know the salt spray did it, i was just stupid...seems to be a pattern lol...so do any of yall saltwater fisherman know of anyway to clean these things up??? i just dont feel like dropping $50 bucks each on 3 new reels. i probley should know how to do this but i used to take good care of em so i never had to do this. any advice would help.

Yup....WD-40.

And/or contact your local baitshop or good (i.e. not Big 5 or Wal Mart) tackle dealer...They should be able to give you good advice.

Best of luck!

Also Penn makes a very good protect ant spray. That way once you get them all cleaned up you can protect them against it in the future.
