  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Or PM me if you like, Gokian - since I have the privelege of being on Cropper and being a CCC member - and I'll forward a care package your way, as well. Also worth noting, CI shipments get here very quickly - good thing too, since the local dealers' Cohibas are for sh--!

Oh, yeah - should have posted this earlier. If you're a servicemember in a forward deployed area, contact your local MWR manager about setting up a cigar club. Funds are available for this, guys - printing posters, banners, t-shirts and stickers is easy, and getting door prizes donated to the group for a raffle isn't difficult, either. Our club has a large Cohiba humidor donated by one of our local vendors, and last night raffled off a Montecristo (I think) ashtray, a five pack of premium puros, and an iPod Nano. Our little club is off to a raging good start!

Our club pricing is: $50- membership fee gets you 2 stickers, a t-shirt, a humidor bag, 2 regular sticks and 1 premium - and an additional premium each week you come out. It's one Hell of a deal for us, and a much needed social activity and release. Being Iraq, we even had 2 members bring their shisha water pipes and apple tobacco - horrible stuff IMO, but whatever does it for you.

In short, you don't look for support - you make your own!

Thanks for the offer guys. I am currently the only regular cigar smoker within my AO so no need for a care package. The current set up of my fob has me somewhat isolated from the larger fob on the otherside of the city. I have tried sparking some interest in starting a club but to no avail.

P.S. It is awesome to see more soldiers joining the site.

D**n I just got chewed out. No lie about 30 mins after making this post I got yelled at for not accepting it. If it still stands please shoot me a PM.

See what happens when you complain? :stickbeat

PM sent.

And here's a suggestion - post a few flyers adverising a cigar meetup once a week - you'll be surprised how many will come out of the woodwork, on even the smallest FOBs. Grab a chessboard, checker board and a set of dominoes, set up a table or two, and snag a few near beers from a local chow hall - people will come out just for something to do.

What address can the CI shipments be sent to? The CCC sounds awesome, must be cool sitting next to a bunch of brothers and sisters that can sit and share a smoke irregardless of rank.

CI ships to our regular APO mailing addresses just fine. Format is:

(Rank)(Name)
(Unit)
APO, AE (Zip Code)

You input your unit as the street address, APO as the City and AE (Army Europe) is on the drop down menu for the State. Too easy!

And yes, cigars are a great equalizer, where we can all take off our hats and put away the rules requiring we salute. A 1-Star General routinely drops by the Camp Victory Cigar Club on the other side of the base complex and lights up with the junior enlisted Soldiers who work for him!

Yeah easy for you! This civilian hasn't a clue as to what that means! If I wanted to put in an order with one of the vendors and have it sent to the CCC where would I send it? :scratchhe

That's too cool. You guys stay safe and thank you all for your service. :applause:
