  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

It's been a coon's age since I had one of these. I picked up a fiver from the Monster a few weeks back for $11 / shipped and decided to sacrifice one after losing two close sets of tennis today. (It's about time as I won my previous 6 sets).

Size: 5" x 50 robusto
Wrapper: CT shade
Binder: Mexico
Filler: DR

Pre-Light: Nice looking tan wrapper. Shiny with a few small veins. Almost no aroma other than light cedar + tobacco. Mildly firm construction.

First 1/3: Very easy draw with tons of thick smoke. Very mild body with flavors of fresh grass + wood. Moderate finish. Even burn, solid ash.

Second 1/3: The body has picked up a notch to the mild-medium area. The grassy taste is gone, replaced with a nice mushroom earthiness. The woodiness is also more prominent and sweeter. Long finish with a touch of caramel. Still a very even burn w/ tons o' creamy smoke. The ash easily hangs on 1" or more.

Final 1/3: Again, the body has picked up to almost the medium level. The earthy and woody flavors are still present, along with more of the caramel sweetness. Also on the finish is a interesting flavor of slightly minty tobacco. Still very creamy with lots of smoke.

Overall: Pretty good. Best for a morning smoke, for newer smokers or for someone looking to practice exhaling through the nose / trying to make smoke rings (I'm still working on it). At $2 and change these are a good value as well.
