  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

for those who were bbq bombed by AD

I've tried several of the rubs and sauces, and I must say...we have a winner.

Central BBQ is the best of the lot...great amount of flavor and just enough spice in the rub, and the sauce...the sauce is bad ass.

Thanks again man!

I must say, you have good tastes! I love central, by far my favorite of the ones I sent your way. Their BBQ nachos are to die for. Glad you like it!

gotta try that. all i ever hear about is neeley's and rendevous.
Bob, I think the key to the Rendevous is eating in-person....their BBQ is to die for and some of the coldest beer I have ever drank.

After dinner you walk down the alley to the Peabody Hotel for great dessert and coffee and watch the ducks!

Never tried it on steak. I actually like to cook hotdogs on the stove with the sauce. I also love putting it on hamburgers instead of ketchup. Something else to try: make some mac and cheese and sprinkle some of the rub on top - not too much though. It's even better if you can get the deli type mac and cheese. Try it. You won't be disappointed.

That's a good point. The atmosphere and history of Rendevous is great (some of the server's have been there for 30+ years.) The ribs are very good but I think their BBQ is only ok. I prefer a sweeter sauce then they make. That being said, I still make sure to eat there every couple of months or so. I should also note that to me, "only ok" BBQ is better than about 98% of all the other foods out there

i was only there long enough to do bealle st, the ducks and neeley's. oh, and graceland. need to try central.
Next time you are down this way holler at me and we'll do it up

Hey it is only $8 an 8 ounce jar, I guess that's what everyone in my family will be getting for their respective birthdays. I keep up these inexpensive gifts I may fill up my humidor after all.

The K.I.S.S. method is a military motto plus since I am an E-3 no one questions anything because they know living in California means I don't have a lot to spend. Little do they know I spend most of my time here and money on cigars.
