Found a snake!

My neighbor always gets these random animals he or his dad finds, he's 6 so he is curious. He found a tiny snake today that is about 10" long. It's charcoal gray, orange belly, and a yellow ring around its neck.

Anyone know much about these or how to care for them?

I caught a black snake back when I was a kid (about 2' long). I would feed it pinky mice from the pet store but after some time that snake began to secrete the nastiest funk/smell from its skin. He had to be let go in the garden...

I've never seen that particular snake but I know people often put a small dish in an aquarium filled with water and minnows. Snakes love to peck at them
