Went to a hay field this morning with my buddy Richard. Of course the kids had to tag along. Well 10 minutes after letting the dogs go they had a group of 50 wild hogs bayed up. We took Wego my Argentina Dogo and he caught a nice 150 pound sow. Field dressed the sow and now ready to through her in the smoker.

What's the flavor of feral hog compared to something off a farm? I lived in NWFL for four years and always meant to go hunting for pigs but never did. I ran into them plenty when I was working on the bombing ranges at Eglin AFB just never hunted.

If properly bled and cleaned wild hogs taste pretty much the same as any pigs. The younger and fatter the pig is the more tender they are. I mix a lot of the pig with deer to make sausage and ground meat. Going to try and make some wild hog jerky later tonight.

I have had my Dogos since the early 90s. I have rescued a few and bought a few over the years and have created a perfect line for what I do with them.

You can always take a vacation and come hunting with us. I did a hunt last year in July where I invited all of my smoking friends and it turned out great. Maybe I will do a BOTL wild hog hunt this year. It needs to be in February or march what do you all think. Our ranch house has 12 beds and tons of room and was built in the 1850s. I will start a new thread if this is something that you all would be interested in.
