Cigar B
This one is 6x52 (I think!) and is a dark brown, very lightly veined and with a little bit of tooth. I took this picture in my house before smoking and the light washed it out a little bit.
Very strong aroma pre-light. A little bit of hay and a whole lot of cocoa. With the cap clipped, there was none of that on the cold draw, however, it was very woodsy, actually.
Once lit, it initially hit with a little bit of pepper --not much, just a little-- and after a couple of puffs, a fair amount of citrus. It actually reminded me of the San Lotano Oval I smoked last week, though that citrus note faded out completely after the first inch or so.
Moving past the first third, the burn remains perfect and this has become all wood and leather. There is no pepper on the palate, but still enough to notice on the retrohale. The draw is easy, but not loose, and the amount of smoke generated is what I would consider normal for a well made cigar. The ash that started out very white is starting to become gray and mottled.
In the home stretch I start to pick up some of that cocoa that I smelled pre-light, though the dominant flavors are still wood backed by leather. Right at the end, a little bit of nuttiness comes through as well. Though I'm fairly confident I've smoked this cigar before, I can't quite place my finger on what it is. I could probably do a much better job of telling you what it's not. It's not one that's in my regular rotation though it was a very nice medium bodied cigar. Thanks again for letting me participate.
