Craig Mac
BoM 4/10 7/11 12/14
Had to work a bit today so I figured I'd grab some lunch an have a smoke. So I ordered up some grub and a beer and filled my belly.
Now for the review....
Hi, my name is Craig, and I am a lancero whore. I have tried other vitolas, but that skinny little sexy beast keeps calling me back.
Smooth looking wrapper, minimal veins and no soft spots. Prelight - good draw, hint of hay/barnyard and spice.
First third - Wow, this cigar really started with a bang of a pepper blast. Excellent draw and smoke production, surprisingly stronger than I expected after the cold draw. By far the strongest of the CyB line so far. There was a burn to the retrohale that I really didn't anticipate. Picking up notes of spice, pepper and a hint of cedar lingered on the palate.
Second third - The pepper blast I experienced in the first third faded a touch, but it is still a solid medium+. Ash holds for about an inch and the cigar is smoking great. Had to do a quick touch up because I let it sit for a couple mins, but the burn has been nice and solid so far. Wrapper had a slight issue where it peeled up but it didn't affect the draw or burn at all.
Final third - the finish to the smoke was just as good as the first two thirds. Flavor picked up again and left a nice finish on the palate. I definitely think this cigar is the star of the line and yields a bit more strength as a Lancero. Really looking forward to this being release and is definitely box worthy and IMO with the strength it has young, will continue to get better with age.
