Good 'ole country girl
I recently had an incredible opportunity to enjoy one of these rare beauties. This is truly one of the greatest cigars it has ever been my pleasure to smoke! It was also my very first Opus. I have a feeling it will be a tough act to follow!
The prelight draw was loose with notes of cedar and spice. Upon lighting I picked up a subtle (don't laugh) peanut butter taste that quickly yielded to strong cedar notes with a bite of pepper on the finish.
After only 1/2" in, the flavor profile changed almost completely. The spice and pepper were gone. In their places were tastes of sweet almond, fresh grass, and a slight woody taste on the finish. The ash on this stick is amazing. It held on for about 2" before it became property of the Stinky.
The flavor was fairly consistent throughout until about 2/3 of the way in. The predominant flavor now is almonds. Lots and lots of sweet, creamy almonds. This cigar is billowing smoke and I'm loving it! What's also noteworthy about this stick is the nice even burn I'm experiencing with barely any touchup.
The last 1/3 of this stick was more of the same, with the grass and spice flavors creeping back in for a strong finish. It was so hard to finally put this baby down, but I didn't want to burn my fingers. Sadly, I surrendered it to the Stinky.
What else can I say except I loved this smoke! If you ever get the chance to smoke a "Princess Di", do it! You'll be glad you did!
