  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Just picked up a bottle of this at the liquor store for about $13 off retail: http://www.klwines.com/detail.asp?sku=1033609

Wow wow wow, now this is a great scotch! As a person who also loves port, I absolutely love what the extra aging in port casks does to both the aroma and flavor of this stuff.

I could not possibly imagine a much better after dinner beverage than this. You get all the best characteristics of quality scotch and port mixed together in a super smooth and not-too-sweet format. Somehow it's both delicate and bold at the same time. The texture is velvety, the flavors very well balanced, and the body is brawny.

Even though I'm a bourbon connoisseur at heart, I can say that this is definitely a quality spirit. Now if I could just find the right cigar to pair...

This sounds really great! I'm just getting into whiskey and scotch, and I love port. I'll be on the look out for this!

As good as this is, it's a far cry from the PORT WOOD FINISHED whisky that Glenmorangie offered up until recently (The Quinta Ruban is its replacement). The Quinta Ruban is much hotter, and actually has a slightly less matured port cask taste.

Still a great whisky.
