  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Alright, in about a month i'll be going to Barcelona. I've never had any CC before and I'd like to know what I should get. I'm only going to be in Spain for a week so I want this to be good. I've searched the forums and heard lots of great things about RASS, PSD4, Monte 2, CoRo. Are these good right from the B&M?

If you can find some aged stock (1998 or before) take your pick. The stuff from early 2006 is also very good. Being a newbie to CCs, you might want to start with some lighter stuff and work your way up ... ERdM, HdM, Juan Lopez, etc. Have a great time!

I like the ERdM PC for a little bodied smoke. Plus, it will be cheap. The Chiox Supreme is good too. I like the HdM Du Prince, I had one for 03 the other day and it was very nice.

There's a pretty upscale tobacco & alcohol shop on La Rambla. I think they have an ok selection of cigars, but the shop is really kickass (i.e. the alcohol and accessories). Forgot what it was called, tho. And the street performers rock there.
have fun!

Good luck in your quest.

May I suugest that you purchase cigars only at an approved cuban cigars distributer. La Casa del Habano is the official franchise for selling cuban cigars. I'm not real sure if they are regiastered to sell in Spain, maybe someone here knows. There are a lot of fake cigars out there, and since you are new to the game, make sure what you get is the real deal.

Good luck and enjoy.

Oh I've already got a place lined up....one of the most famous B&M's in Spain, or so I'm told.

That's the one I was talking about! I didn't remember a huge walk-in humidor (mostly counter display and stuff) but they have a cool alcohol selection along with tons of awesome accessories. I got a really kickass collector's bottle of Sangria from them. You're gonna love Barcelona! One of my favorite cities. Rent a bike and ride it around if you get the chance.

Good to hear! I'll make sure to rent a bike. We're also taking a boat ride down one of the rivers....can't recall the name.
