Hello Old Friends,
I figured this was one of the few communities that would truly appreciate this. As a cigar smoker, it’s rare to come across heirloom-quality accessories that strike the right balance of craftsmanship and history. There are certainly beautiful lighters—both vintage and modern—from Cartier, Dunhill, and S.T. Dupont... got those. I’ve collected a few exceptional vintage Dunhill humidors and some other unique humidors over the years. But when it comes to genuinely rare, luxury items, the offerings are few and far between. That said, I definitely feel like overpaid—but today, I managed to acquire two of Thomas Edison’s personal cigar cutters. At $5,888 including auction premium (and not including sales tax)... I'm definitely getting in trouble for this grail purchase. While logic went out the door with this, it was last bought at auction in 2006 for $25,000.

Last sold: Lot 1 $25,000
