traveling to the Grand Cayman late September. any advice on where to find authentic habanos? and how safe is it for my twin brother to bring them back on a cruise ship?

BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

guaranteed authentic.. and perfectly legal to bring them back onto the cruise ship... the issue would be if you attempted to bring them back into a US port of call and they were found..

Probably should be said the LCDH is the only place you'll find cc's that are the real deal. With a it being a major tourist destination the market is going to be flooded with fakes.

It's bugging me, but I met a guy in Cuba who is an owner of a shop/lounge in the Caymans but I can't remember his name or the shop!?! He knew a lot of people and seemed well respected... I lost a lot of my notes from the trip but will try and figure out who he is and where his shop is. He was in the process of building out a bigger/better lounge if I remember correctly and that was late 2012.

Churchill cigars have real, authentic CC's. There prices are much better than Habanas.
They will give small discounts on box buys as well as ship back to the US. It's located in the shopping complex where Margaritaville is located along with a couple of watch shops. I've purchased from them twice and plan to do so again in December. When we stop in again on a cruise.

Been to Caymans many times and your best bet is at LCDH even though there are a few more shops around that sell CC's.....dutyfree at the airport as well. The nice thing I tend to get is Havana Club Rum as well. When you go through Customs you might want to change the underwear on those CC's.
Just got back from GCI. Spent a week at Coral Sands Resort about 1 mile from Georgetown. I went to both LCDH and Churchhills. I compared product and prices at both. They are both priced within a dollar or two of each other. And from what I could see they both had authentic CC. I bought from LCDH a couple to bring back then went to Churchills at Duty Free at the airport when leaving and bought a couple boxes. It was cheapest at the Duty Free at the airport.

Headed out tomorrow. Thanks for the shop suggestions. I've been paying attention to some of the other threads and made a small list of sticks to look for. Hopefully I can find some with some age on it. Thanks fellas
To be a technical jerk.... it's not actually legal to bring them back onto the cruise ship. It's actually illegal to buy them at all no matter where you are. It's stupid but true :-/
