  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

the bad is simple and to the point.

The Wrapper

It is a med. brown toothy wrapper with light viens showing up. It has a double cap and and oily look but does not feel oily. it smells very much like fresh cut hay. Suprisingly its not as heavy as it looks but it does feal huge between your fingers.

The but on the left is the end of the oliva O i covered yesterday.

its almost comical how big it realy is.

First Cut
It cut very easly for hoe large it is and the a veiw of multi color tasteness meets the eye when you look into the cut.

wish the colors didnt wash out in the picture. Apon dawing though the unlight cigar i find a flavor that is new to me it was a golden hay mixxed with a cooked brown rice, very nice ( i am a cook by trade so i tent to use food for tast and smells of stuff ) the draw was nice a easy, the tast of black pepper is left on my lips and tongue. i am drinking water with my cigar today.

First Light
After toasting the end the smell of the smoke coming off is like fresh cut hard wood. It does take a little work to get a cigar of this size going, the burn goes alittle askew right off the bat.

I gave it a short rest period and it evened right out. there are huge amounts of pillowy smoke and its light flavored nutty grassy smoke, like peanutsthe first bit was a medium body cigar for sure.

1/3 Of The Cigar
There is something comforting about this cigar i cant really figure it out. light carmel taste with a strong brown rice freshness. At this point the burn was becoming un even and a little tending was needed.

once tended it evened right back up.

the ash is not tight like on some cigars but seems to be holding well. as for the tast there is almost no peppery tast just a stong nutty flavor with a bit of hay mixed in.it does have a sweet taste not like a maduro its a grassy sweet like chewing on hay. The last of the first third had the flavor of an articoke heart clean sweet grass. the smoke continues to billow out like its being pumped.

2/3 Or The Midle

Starting into the midle a light sharp flavor has come out ( like a brea cheese sweet and smooth with a sharp after taste ). the ash fell of at the 2 inch mark ( on my lap go figure ). the sweet edge of this cigar is showing with hints of butter toffee. i am normaly a full body kind of guy but this meduim body cigar is great and i keep buying them. a light sweet pepper taste is starting nere the last third its like a pink pepper corn lots of flavor no real bite, and wow the smoke is getting thicker.

3/3 Almost To The End

the flavors are picking up and getting stonger. It also started to burn a litle un even but i left it alone to fix its self. the buttery flavor of theh tabacco is just amazing. the temp on the cigar is staying low. the flavors are thick and stick tou the tongue when you swirl it around in your mouth.

The smoke filtering up from the ashtray smells of a sweet camp fire and taste of is roasted nuts.

The Last Inch (always the best)

i Cleaned the flavors out of my mouth with some water and dived back into it.there are some new flavors that i can detect now starting with a great ceader finish. A small split started to form but im sure it was from trying to hold such a large cigar.

A peppery note throws its cards in the game from time to time and keeps me guessing. Near the end the flavor is startign to even out and continue to be roasted nuts with a light hay and grassy flavor.

Final Thoughts
As bring the review and this great cigar home i think the reason i keep buying it is that i know that this cigar will taste the same every time i light it up and sometimes thats a great thing. I have wrote 3 pages of notes and still dont feel as i have done this cigar justice. take a chance on this big boy and i dont think you will be sorry. im at the point were i cant even hold it but i dont want to put it down what a great afternoon smoke.

Great review! Man that is a frickin' huge cigar, lol! I've smoked the Rothchild which I like a lot, and the torpedo. I'll grab one of these sometime if I find one. It's seldom I have time to smoke a cigar this big, though.

Dang another awesome review. I really like how you are comparing the flavor notes to certain foods. Keep the reviews coming!!!
