I was prompted to do a review of this cigar by a member on chat last night.
So, without any more delay, here is the review.
Cigar: Graycliff 30 yr (bombed by @FullyArmedFISD)
Vitola: Robusto
Wrapper: African Cameroon (aged 30 years)
Binder: Mexican San Andres, Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan Seco, Dominican Piloto Cubano Seco, Brazilian Mata Fina, and Honduran Copan long leaves
I decided to have fun and get "artistic" with my photos. Ok, I was bored and wanted to mess around. If you like it, great. If not, oh well!
Pre-Light: Slightly aromatic, with a hint of mustiness. I'm already looking forward to it.
1st: I pick up a hint of espresso, but only very light. There is a mustiness when I retrohale, and I have to note this retrohale doesn't make my eyes burn!
Easy draw, and the smoke comes out nice and thick. I love it when this happens.
The aroma is very pleasant, and I pick up some hints of cedar as well.
I believe this is Detroit cedar though, and not Spanish. I kid, I kid!
2nd: I'm still noticing the mustiness, and it's quite enjoyable. During this time I start to pick up some creaminess, and just a slight note of very mild pepper. Not the spice bomb pepper though, just a hint.
The smoke is billowing and still tasty.
The burn is slightly uneven, but not enough to worry about touching up. Who cares, let it burn!
The ash is nice and white, and the construction holds up well.
3rd: The flavors really haven't changed much, but I'm not complaining at all. I rather like this, as I can just sit back in the 30˚ weather and smoke!
Some hints of leather are coming up at this time, and some more pepper, but again not overwhelming. I took this down to the nub.
This was a good cigar, and I would smoke one again in a heartbeat. I'm hoping to put a few in my humi when I can afford it, as this is worth smoking as a daily cigar, or while on break from baby duty (when that comes in October).
Another brother (@ToastedFoot) and I talked about how this smokes and tastes, and agreed it is an elegant cigar.
I enjoyed it and look forward to the next.
