  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Pre light: After clipping the fuse and taking a draw, I was surprised how much pepper was on the pre-draw and it tingled my lips and tongue.

Light:Very earthy and leatherly, with an almost cayenne spice that was on the back end of the smoke. The spice almost took a second after exhaling to kick in.

First inch (1/3): I have not had the privilege of smoking a BRex so I can not comment on the similarities that others have posted about the resemblance to that stick. However, I have had the T110 and I can say that it does have many hints of this smoke in the M80. the draw was slightly loose for me with such a small smoke and this could easily heat up too fast if one let it. Spice seemed to fade after the first 1/2" and switched to more of what I call the T110 "floral" notes.

Second 1/3: This short smoke is relatively complex in the fashion that the notes do change quite often. Here I am pulling out more of a sweet tobacco flavor as the spice is almost gone. There is a hint of chocolate and still more of the T110 "floral" notes to the smoke. The ash is very white and holds surprisingly well for the perceived looser draw.

Last 1/3: I left about an inch on this and did not smoke this to the nub. This has the feeling of a very young cigar. I got some ammonia that entered late in the second 1/3 to the beginning of the last 1/3, but quickly faded. What was left was more sweet tobacco and leather flavor that had a distinctive "Nica" flavor to it. More hints of the T110 "floral" notes, although less prominent and a small bit of spice came back on the finish of this smoke.

Thoughts: This was a strong smoke for the size, easily paired with an espresso or a strong coffee. The youth on this cigar is noticeable and can only get better with age. No doubt, if you are a fan of the T110 you will most likely enjoy this smoke. I was surprised at how complex (changed a lot) this short smoke was. It produced tons of smoke throughout the burn and construction produced an even burn throughout the experience.
