  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Size: 6x60
Wrapper: Brazilian Arapirace Maduro
Binder: Criollo
Filler: Dominican and Nicaraguan
Body: Medium
Strength: Medium
Smoke Time: 1.75 Hours

Construction:
This cigar boasts a nice firm pack. It has a very dark, oily brown wrapper. You can see small veins and toothiness all over the cigar. The seams are nice and tight and it has a sharp looking triple cap. The band is super cool. It has a holographic effect to it which really shines in the sun and adds to the spookiness of the stick!

Pre-Light Aroma:
The Brazilian wrapper has a rich spicy tobacco smell to it and off the foot you get a spicy chocolate.

First Third:
Off the first light and until about 3/4" in, you get a flavor that is...well, kinda boring1 However as you get into this cigar about an inch you finally start tapping into some very tasty flavors. The smoke goes creamy and you get a caramel and vanilla type flavor that reminded us of the white bark chocolate you use in baking. As we finished this third a smokey wood peeps in to say hello! The smoke gets creamier as you go, with tons of smoke output as well as a lot of smoke pouring off the foot.

Second Third:
The major flavor in this second third is the creamy, smokey oak. You get a spice that is reminiscent of cinnamon. It isn't super intense, but it sure is yummy!

Final Third:
As you begin the end of this cigar, one of my favorite flavors joins the party...leather! About half way through a nice almond flavor shows up and wrestles with leather the rest of the time to be the dominate flavor.

Last Thoughts:
Overall, I think this is a fine cigar. I sure enjoyed the stick and we appreciate Peter at PCB Cigars for recommending it. I would smoke it again and would even consider a box at the right price! We paired it with Not Your Father's Root Beer. This is definitely the drink to go with. In fact any root beer (alcoholic or not) would pair well with this.

Thanks. I will post my Gurkha Colorado review after i finish stuffing my face with my Wife's good cooking! But I did like the ghost and would smoke it again, even keep a few in my humi.
The Colorado...Is one of my favorite cigars. It is so creamy and has a strong espresso base.
