  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

This 6.50 box pressed stick offered a very soft silky dark chocolate wrapper, with a near perfect burn and great draw, on the loose side. Burn time to just past the band was 1:15 with the ash holding on right to the 1/2 way point, about 3″. The first half offered a good bit of earthy complexity, showing creamy smooth leather, bread, deep earth and a touch of pepper on the short clean finish. The 2nd half switched to a slightly sweet cocoa, with the creamy leather coming back at points. The draw loosened up a bit and it produced a good amount of smoke all the way down, although not as rich as you would expect from the volume. Thank you to Shuckins for the trade!

i was wondering about those. i've not had a bad gurkha with the exception of the status. not that it was bad. it just wasn't memorable. i'm glad i have your reviews to go by. thanks, bro.

Nice review! Gurkha get's a lot of flack, but honestly I've never had a "bad" one. Not usually "great" either, though some are (Nepalease Warrior come to mind). The last ones I had were the Blue Steel which was a nice chocolaty maduro and the Triple Ligero which had a really nice flavor (though not a strong or spicy stick like the name would suggest).

I smoked my first Gurhka the other day. I believe it was a Liga C-10 (not sure though, will check the band tonight). I thought it was a great smoke. Very smooth and consistant throughout. I look forward to trying more Gurhkas.

Great review. I'll have to try this Gurhka, most Gurhkas I have tried have been a pretty boring, one sided smoke.
