• BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I smoked this cigar first at CIgar King with One a Day. I loved it but could not remember the name. I found it again and picked up a bundle. The lable is very PSD4. The cigar opens very peppery but smooths out to a nutty flavor with a hint of sweetness of maybe molasses or honey. I believe we are talking 70% ligero as this is a very strong cigar with a big bang. Grey ash easy draw and no touch ups. All in all an excellent smoke.

I really like this line, it is a fine example of the stronger side of Pepin and as Chuck mentions, with some complexity that surfaces about a 1/3 of the way in.
If you want a milder smoke by Pepin try a Havana Soul also available at Cigar King dot com

I have looked these up based on other great reviews but never pulled the trigger. Probably should. Thanks from me but not my wallet, Chuck.

I bought a 5er from Chuck and it was simply amazing it was to deal with an outstanding and upstanding man. He not only provided the smokes at an outstanding price, he even sent along some family photos!

Way to go Chuck!

Now if I can only apply the 30-day rule you shared with me!!!

I smoked one a couple of weeks ago. I think that these are terrific cigars and do not be scared off by the 70% ligero. They are going to be a welcomed cigar if you take the chance.

Nice review. I've tried the Pepin JJ and have a Pepin Cuban Classic and a Pepin Generosos waiting to be fired up. Now I'm gonna add this one. Thanks!

I just got done with a robusto HL I got in a sampler and has been sitting for a few weeks in the humi. Wow! Big bang pepper blast at the front that mellowed really quickly into that wonderful Pepin profile. I would have said perfect except for some burn issues. Wouldn't stop canoeing even with several touchups and it went out on me twice, and I didn't really let it rest significantly. That's never happened to me before. But geez what flavors. I think I'd put up with the burn for more of these (and nobody above mentioned problems, so maybe I got an off one). There was some nic hit that's for sure. People were warning about the El Cobres that I didn't feel a thing on. This baby had me floating a bit, even a couple hours after a big dinner. I can see a box of these in the near future.
