I wanted to get an early jump and wish all those Dad's out there a Happy Father's Day. Wife and child come home in an hour from 3 day trip. Plus my Mother and Father are coming to my house for a little cookout tomorrow. So not sure I have much time to check in until later on Sunday evening.
I was looking on my list of buddies and looks like many folks here are not fathers, or not that I know of. For me being a Dad has been the single best thing ever to happen to me. But at the same time single hardest thing I have done in my life. You must grow up and be more accountable to a family vs only yourself. Being a somewhat selfish person, this is something that does not come easy for me. The joy of watching a child grow from a newborn, to an infant, to a toddler, then quickly into a young child is truly miraculous. My only child is named Carly and was truly a blessing for me and Mrs. Headbanger. Carly is 8 years old going on 12 it seems. She minds her manors, she respects adults around her, truly a gift. Most of the credit goes to my wife. But I should take some of the credit too. I shall reflect on that later tonight and some of tomorrow as well.
I remeber a thread within the last month that some of you have been meaning to call there Fathers. For some reason got disconnected from them or had a falling out. Well me being a Father now I can see those bonds will never fully disconnecting from my child. So I hope everyone takes time to reach out to their Father (or Mother if need be) and get in contact with them and work things out. Making amends is something I have had to do and think I will spent the rest of my time here doing my best to be a good son, and now an even better Father.
So again, Happy Father's Day to you all. Enjoy your Sunday.
