have you ever had a cigar that tasted better a few days after?

bought a bunch of old nc cigars from the cigar boom years of the late nineties. partly to help a brother out, partly out of curiosity on how these would taste a decade after. not expecting much as these were from dry nevada and some were as hard as a rock. lit up a don diego reserve box-pressed torpedo. brittle wrapper with that typical minty, musky taste as expected. surprisingky decent draw though. put it down after a couple of inches and forgot about it in my ashtray.

a couple of days later, was about to torch a j21 and decided to relight the old stick instead. mint/musk still there but faded to background and that mild don diego flavor profile was coming through! burn was real slow and brittle wrapper started to split but this was definitely still smokable. height of summer here in the tropics so rh around 70 and temp in the high eighties.

lit up that j21 after just to make sure my palate wasn't playing tricks. no surprises here, just rich tat goodness.

go figure!?!?! :applause:
