  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Trying to identify a flavor in this thing. Not sure that I like it but it's killing me not knowing what it is. It's almost like a cherry or something... is it the binder that I'm tasting?? I smoke a lot of broadleaf wrapped stuff, maduras, and mostly Nicaraguan blends but I get something different with this one. Any insight???

The Katman’s write up mentions tangerine. Is it tangerine?

I was thinking it might be that Indonesian binder. I think I'd try a bigger stick next time so if that's what get the most of for taste maybe it balances out with the other flavors that I can tell are hidden in there. No tangerine for me anyway.

Do a search for All Out Kings Smash - There's a review that states: "Smash begins medium-full with cedar, walnuts and a bit of that Dr. Pepper sweetness, a distinct sweet cherry flavor."

Excellent cigar we did a pairing with Maker's Mark. Cream, almost Bavarian Cream (like in the donut) and Cedar where real prominent
Yeah I didn't get any cream, which is unfortunate. A lot of the local guys were going crazy over them for the creaminess. Maybe next time.

Don't know if the cream came from the Bourbon or the cigar but it was real prominent in the combination

A flavor wheel lists the flavors you can expect to find in a cigar. There are many but they are basically the same. Do a search for "cigar flavor wheel" really handy when trying to learn how to taste a cigar. Read the reviews, smoke the cigar with the reviews and flavor wheel in front of you. Make notes. Great way to learn. We are all different but this will send you in the right direction.

I don't usually get that cherry with Maduro or broadleaf. I haven't smoked too many with Indonesian Sumatra binders though...

indo Sumatra is spicy and leaves the back of your mouth dry.
the mouth feel is almost dusty.
I have tasted cherry in broadleaf cigars ,been years though.
first time was an El Cobre toro. (2008? )
then in RyJ Churchill. (cuban)
