HERF Tips - need some helpful tips

Hello fellow BOTL! I am new to the site and I have been reading about the various HERFs going on and I am thinking that would be a fun event to do at one my local shops. Now I have never attended one and obviously never hosted one. So I am just looking for tips on what went well/bad to get it going. Thanks

Well it depends who you are looking to HERF with. You don't really need to do anything other than invite people. I mean if you want to supply a special cigar for everyone great. But it's not a requirement. Just post up on here or ask your friends. "Hey you guys wanna get together at such and such place. Ok cool what day and time is good for everyone. "

Britt hit the nail on the head. A herf is nothing more than a group of epode pole getting together to fellowship and smoke some great cigars. Just invite, remind folks to support the B&M and have fun.

I think it's usually nice curtesy to bring something for the host. Especially if it's at their house. I often bring some extras for others to try, but nothing absurd.

Never.... It usually just makes it worse... Sigh...

Do what you want to do when you want to do it. You can take every suggestion here but make your herf your herf. I did one at my house cooked food on the grill and watched football. Two people were able to show up and we had a ball. We smoked we are we talked and hung out. A good time is a good time no matter what.
