  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey!

Hi guys, I'm Anthony.....from the cigar side of the forum. I was in a shop today and saw some pipes and "baccy?" and I really wanted to buy some but I was not sure about it. I've herd corn cob pipes are great starters and get a few of them as they need to rest. I have also herd Mason Jars are the best storage for baccy. I want to get into this hobby and have no idea were to start. can I get some suggestions on good tobacco to start with? (Or samples)

Is pipe smoking as enjoyable as cigars? It looks like it could be a good time. I like good times. Also how do I pack and Light a pipe and not burn through the pipe.

Can I get a quick easy walk-through on the ritual? I'm excited.:blob:

Hi Anthony!

My name is Rex, some people call me Hoshy. I smoke a lot of pipe; in fact some people would say I have a problem. I believe I just received a package from your contest today. In that package were some cigars, these cigars made for a nice trade for your pipe starter package. Click the link above my comment and sign up, just don't make the mistake of thinking I won't be your sponsor.

-Hoshy-

PS. I already have your address.

Quick question, do I need a beard to smoke a pipe ? I joined the "pipesmokersforum" and they all have beards, and one guy told me To get off his lawn, and called me a prospect. I can't grow facial hair very well, and if that's a requirement I don't think I can be a part of.

Lololol! No beard required but facial hair is nice to keep the smokey goodness with you all day. ;)

One thing you have to realize. The pipe smokers on this board I believe are vastly different than 99% of most pipe guys. lololololol...

Ah looky someone made a wrong turn somewhere and ended up on the darl side. Welcome. Pipes are a wonderful extension of the tobacco hobby. It can be alot less expensive than cigars.

I mainly smoke cigars, but I enjoy a bowl once a while. When I got into pipe tobacco over 10 years ago, my local B&M was the best resource. Hands on experience from packing-lighting-smoking, sampling different blends, to pipes and accessories selection. Cool thing about smoking a pipe is mixing your own blends. I like mixing a little Nicar Ligero or Habano wrapper with english blends.

And the nic-kick from some pipe tobacco kicks any cigars (CC and NC) ass.
