I've been smoking cigars on-and-off for about 15 years now, but only recently found this forum. I used to lurk on alt.smokers.cigars around 1998-2001 when I was first starting out.
I kind of lost interest in cigars when my first son was born in 2001, and basically forgot about my cigars for a couple years. The bulk of my coolidor consists of the cigars I purchased before 2001, with the rest around 5 yrs old or less.
About me, I started off as a cigarette smoker. When I quit smoking in, I had transitioned from 2 packs/day to RYO and then was able to quit the RYO a couple years after that. Around 1995, I bought a cigar sampler from Thompson and things snowballed from there.
