  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well, while I have tried a variety of scotches, most of the people at my B&M drink Glenfiddich 12 or Glenlivet 12. I wasn't ready to go all "Laphroaig," but I wanted a hillside that was a step up in flavor, price, and something less sweet.

This is what I decided to go with.

GREAT CHOICE!

the color was like a reddish gold and the nose was actually buttery and sweet and foreshadowed what was to come.

The flavors I got where actually BUTTER and some toffee with a little spice, with just a hint of peat and smoke to round out the flavors. And given that that I had just opened the bottle, it really opened up as I continued to drink.

The butter flavor was quite impressive and unexpected.

I think this is a great second bottle for those just getting into scotch.

ENJOY!
