I've done quite a bit of traveling and can confirm.. we are in fact a bunch of spoiled brats... but.. that said.. American politics dont have shit on most of the Europeans and a bunch of other "civilized" or developed countries..

only in Italy could you have porn stars elected to public office.. who then offer sex favors publicly to obtain political goals and objectives... only in the UK could members of parliament make a routine habit of heckling each other like they are at a comedy club on the Vegas strip while in session rather than actually debating issues and coming up with solutions.. (dont even let me get started with the Greeks.. the French.. and others..)..

American politics are ugly... no doubt about it... but.. we dont have shit on most of Europe... (any many other places)..

the above has nothing to do with the professionalism (or lack thereof) of lobbyists, political parties, pundits, etc.. it has to do with the politicians themselves... we have people that have never worked in business, managing the business of our country.. people that have never read the constitution drafting bills and legislation that is often later deemed unconstitutional.. etc...etc..

whether roadways get repaired.. bridges get built.. military bases get closed.. national forests get protected.. etc.. often has very little to do with where the greatest need is.. or even what is in the best interest of the American people as a whole.. it instead has everything to do with politics.. and the constant bartering, negotiating, back room dealing, etc.. that goes with it..

You could put moral saints that have never had an affair, never broken a law, or done anything wrong on Capitol Hill... and give the American people nothing to attack..

as long as those saints as career politicians.. as opposed to subject matter experts on business, the military, conservationism (or whatever the issue or the need of the day is).. that are more concerned with re-election.. than they are the best interest of their country... youre still going to have bridges falling apart, States without water, etc...

Whether or not the Clintons have morals.. or the American public loves a good scandal.. has zero to do with it..

...you are right though, it's embarrassing. I have seen one or two amazing put downs but the majority of the time you have to watch from behind a cushion because it's so cringey.
And I wouldn't say you lot are spoiled brats, I'd say Americans place a greater emphasis on customer service but I think that's a good thing though.

Spring strong sweet tall green grass grow...
Did anyone else notice that after she formally announced her candidacy all the flags were moved to half mast?
Maybe it was just me...

(I know, I know. It was really for the anniversary of Lincoln's death. We did move this to politics though, right? )

I find it in bad taste too. Don't agree with the woman's politics, but that entire chapter of her life was no fault of hers and reminding her of it doesn't seem very gentleman like
