Forgive me for the lack of photos! My phone was nearly dead and I was unable to capture more picture of this cigar. Additionally, I didn’t bother with prelight aromas or cold draws with this stick.
This is just a short review on my overall experience…
The first light revealed a bitter spice and black coffee with hints of bakers chocolate and black pepper, body is medium to full right from the get go. Reminds me of the K222 or a fresh J21, I like where this is going!
The first third on the initial draw I picked up a decent amount of spice (cayenne like), black pepper, and a black coffee with a mild creamy (taste and texture of the smoke) on the finish. Body remains medium to full with no determinable strength.
The second third the creamy taste and texture ramped up a bit, the spice dialed back a bit, and the coffee notes kicked up a notch YUMMY! There was also a dry coco note revealed which was only noticed on the first light before. The coco is not noticed on each draw and fades quickly into the background on the finish. Body has settled in at a solid medium with a medium strength noted.
The final third the cigar kind of turned to a slightly sour earth and nuttiness with more black pepper but the smoke seemed to be much thicker and creamier, felt like I was able to literally chew it! Coffee/coco were there but only noted on the finish. Body of the cigar finished out at medium to full, strength remained medium.
Having only smoked one of Nic’s blends, I can see he enjoys spice! I look forward to trying the other three blends that I have of his!
Just a few notes about my experience...
The burn was overall pretty good but I did have to touch up a few times, nothing too crazy though. The draw was fairly loose but very manageable. I wish there was a sweet component to the cigar but it didn't detract from my experience. It's possible that I overheated it in the final third as I was smoking it faster than I did in the final third. The overall burn time was just over an hour, however I did not keep exact smoking time.
Great flavors Nic, this is a cigar I can honestly say would fall in-line with an 10-15 dollar range.
Thanks again for the sticks, Nic. I look forward to trying your other blends!
