Hey guys, wondering if anyone has any insight on current production or within the last couple of years LGC MDO #4 and Sancho Panza Non Plus. These were both outstanding IMHO from the 80s and 90s and even some early 00s, but it seems some regular production vitolas in the past 10 years are meh, at least that has been my experience. What say you? And no snarky @ChuckMejia replies please :cigar:

Non plus are fucking gross IMO.

:)

You’re welcome
I knew that I could count on you bro! I agree on the recent Non Plus I've had, but from 1985-2002 (except '99-'00) most were excellent IMO.

I’ve gone through maybe 3 different box codes and never found them to be great

The MDO no 4 is the perfect morning smoke. Flavors are always spot on and the draw is amazing. Quick elegant smoke

I see a couple guys in this thread that could maybe make an educated comment. Not sure this crowd, or many people on forums for that matter, could answer your question comparing to 80s/90s stock. I do love me some Sancho Non Plus but I'd stay clear from recent Nica type wrappers...

Those dark nica wrappers is all I’ve had and they smoke bad

Most of the wrappers I have seen on them are that Colorado too Rosado that I have been waiting to see again. The flavor profile is right on to the 90's but with a lot more oomph. I would say stash away a few boxes and I think you will be very happy.

The box of SP non plus I have opened right now is from 2005, and it'd be hard to distiguish a difference between the ones I had with a date code in the late 90's if I remember correctly. Whatever that salty component is in their profile just kinda overwhelms everything else in my opinion... age didn't seem to change anything in it from my simple tastebuds' experiences.

All #4s, no matter what decade, taste like cigarettes to me. It is a nice size, but a horrible blend for a cigar.

That said, if you liked those 90s and 2000s freebie packs, I suggest hunting down MUR13s and MSU18s.
