been approached by someone with a "business idea" involving cuban cigars? *roll eyes*
this weekend my friend who got flushed out of nola invited one of his new co-workers over to their pre-tailgate party. he was talking big game and at one point brought up cigars. my friend ryan went inside to look for me so I could show him my cigar caddy. I had to, so he started asking all these questions that I avoided answering:
him "so how much is a robusto?"
me "it depends, robusto is a size. it varies by brands"
I was hoping that if I was indirect enough he would get the hint. anyway, I got a phone call from a friend asking for directions so I used that as a guise to walk away from him.
he wouldn't go away, when bj got there he asked me again:
him "so how much are mark-ups on cigars"
me "I don't know, I'm not a retailer, but I think it's double whole sale or something"
at that point I was pulling my cutter and lighter out for bj to use on his cigar, and when we were on the deck I started talking to his wife and high fiving his daughter. I thought I had shaken him.
I just got a call from a 512 number, it was him. trying to ask me more questions, I told him the astros game was about to start so I would call him back later.
so anyone in austin looking for a business partner in "a cuban cigar venture"?
I'm so sure he's the only one that has thought of that idea.
