  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Not to make you feel unsafe but if you ask me the TSA is basically a fun house with smoke machines and mirrors. On the bright side, a ton if people with high school diplomas or GEDs got decent jobs.

I fly most every week as well, and I do not like TSA. I know it is needed but they could get some folks who are a little more educated and a lot more folks who understand English. I am not trowing them all in the same boat, but I am putting a lot of them in there.

Also to the times when you got the torch lighter with out being taken, it is just luck of the draw. I forgot and left my Ronson in my carry on bag last week and I left Boston, but when I cam back thru Cleveland on the way home they noticed it. It just depends on how well they look and how good they are.

i was given a nice torch lighter by colibri at the icpcr. i asked them how i would get it home, since i didn't have the transpack. the guy told me to bleed it completely, and carry it on. when TSA questions it, tell them it's a soft flame. they'll try to light it and it won't work. he said it works for him.

so i tried it. placed it in the tray with my other stuff. they didn't even question me.

Love for TSA? Those dickholes made check in hell for me each an every time even with two piece federal credentials they issue me. They'd read the creds real close and then ask what I did, as if the creds didn't explain it (there's a damn paragraph on the second part), and then proceed to tearing my bags apart. It never failed I was always setting off the damn explosive detectors. Then in a effort to save some time I told them before screening my bag to call their supervisor but they wouldn't. DOH! "Well sir the alarm went off and I need to find my supervisor." Then I would go through the questioning process again. I could have hidden a bomb in my shoe because they didn't actually check it. So my gripe is don't just go through the motions. If they're going to waste my time at least waste it for a goddamn reason.

If my checked luggage was opened without me present, and they removed something from my bag and left a note. I would be screaming about that 3k diamond ring that was right next to it in my luggage.

That's my take. At least make them pay.
