Intro: It was mostly cloudy and pretty damn windy with the storm front rolling in, but warm. And warm is a damn important thing if you're smoking outside...which I do. So after my son exhausted himself and was down for the count, I rooted around the humidor. I've had this cigar in the humidor for a while and today seemed like the right day. 262 is an interesting cigar company. They are very much into the rights of cigar smokers and they have a kick ass website (http://smoketherevolution.com) to boot.
Amen guys, keep up the good work!At 262, we believe as our country's founders did; that our government should never be allowed to hold our God-given rights and liberties hostage in the name of "progress". We believe it's long past time to take back control of our own lives and be the creators of our own prosperity.
The 262 Ideology is a cigar that will ring home with your palate and take you back to what is was about a cigar that made you fall in love with it. The perfect counterpart to the Paradigm, this toasty, buttery smoke is mild, smooth and sure to set your troubles at ease. An even draw and bountiful smoke make for an effortless experience.

Prelight: The wrapper on this cigar is a tan color, not very oily looking. Noticable box press, feels good in the hand. A few veins, but small and insignificant. Slight sponginess to it when pinched between the fingers, but still feels well packed. Clean tobacco aroma with a slightly sweet earthiness to it. Cut the cap with my Palio and cold draw flavors were a lighty, slightly sweet, faintly spicy tobacco. After a few test draws, the cap unexptectedly came off in my mouth. Took a few licks and some pressing to get it to stay again, but didn't come undone for the rest of the smoke.

First Third: Initial flavors were a dominant dry woodiness with a roasted, almost harsh, coffee finish. The draw was effortless, slightly on the loose side...probably should have cut a little shallower given this is a box press cigar. Burn was pretty sharp, which given the windy conditions was pretty good I think. Toward the end of the first third the coffee flavor lost the harshness which made it a much better experience. Poured smoke. The ash seemed strong, but bits of it kept being eroded by the wind which caused it to be crumbly.

Second Third: Going into the second thrid the woody flavor became sweeter, though still remainded dry. The coffee flavor on the finish was creamier and I started to detect a floral-like note on the retro-hale. The burn wavered some here and there, but corrected itself without assistance. Overall definitely a mild to medium bodied cigar.

Last Third: Not much changed from the secong third to the last. Dropped it in the ash tray with about an inch left.
Final Thoughts: Overall I wasn't blown away, but still was a decent cigar. The harshness in the coffee flavor put me off a bit, but once that cleared up then things got better. Still I felt it was too mild for my preference. If you like a mild to medium cigar with a woody profile to it, then you might find this more to your tastes than did I.
