Saw this at Woodford Reserve




Any idea how to get such an even spread of light? Wife said I can have a nice cigar/liquor room in our next house and in addition to a small walk in humidor I think this is pretty neat and would like to do some sort of take off on it. Any thinking that the light will be bad for the liquor?

You'll need some sort of diffuser, a lot of those are edge lit and the medium that is the wall is treated or made to capture and redirect light

With the larger stuff it works like this

With smaller area theres basically just a led strip around the inside and a small piece of trim I'm front of it so you dont spot the lights. Then a thinner cloudy diffuser. Most led drop ceiling panels are these. If you go bigger than 4'x4' ide worry about an even lux dispersion.

Long term exposure to the light is probably not desirable. If you’re just turning it on every once in a while to impress your guests, or just to admire it, I think your booze should be ok.

Thanks for the advice and direction. I'm thinking a display case type of thing for select bottles instead of an entire wall at this point
