had my first one of these tonight, another great smoke from the Illusione line! not sure i like it over the CG4, but still a great stick nonetheless!

anyone know the significance of the gold and white band on these, as opposed to the usual black and white band found on the other sticks in the line?

my understanding is that the gold on the mk, hl, and eccj was to connote that these were slightly different blends from the "regular" Illusione line...less ligero if I recall correctly...something that Dion wrote, not sure where I read it (or if I'm even remembering right).

I'm still working my way through the line myself, smoked an 88 and a cg4. I've got an f9 and 68 on the docket for coming weeks.

Yep, that's basically what I heard too. I personally like the milder blend mk, hl and eccj better than the others. The slightly milder blend allows the flavor and complexity to shine through. Although, I pretty much like everything Dion makes (so far).

Here's how Dion explained it....

"They have a gold band along with the ~hl~ because they’re more of an artisan blend better represented in those particular sizes. They’re 20% different than regular illusione black and white bands."

"havent smoked the one ECCJ i have yet"

You are gonna love that cigar my brother! In my opinion, the Epernay, is a stronger cigar than the ECCJ and I loved it too!

lighter blend makes sense, didnt get any buzz like i usually do...have smoked the cg4, mk and the 68...have a couple mj12 sitting, as well as an 88...cant wait to try either, although the mj12 will have to wait till i have a while to sit and enjoy it, pretty large ring size

I just finished up a CG4 and I always find myself liking this Illusione the best. I'd have to say the ECCJ and the 68 are a very close 'tied for 2nd'.

With the exception of the MK, I do not care for most of the Illusione's. Whenever I have the chance, I smoke the MK and the other line that has a gold band.

All of the Illusiones are great including the Chuchillos Cubanos. The MJ12 is a fantastic blend but my favorite would be the -hl-. If you have not treid it yet I would suggest you pick one up. It is a lancero and so full of flavor!

The MJ12 is the only I haven't tried yet, along with the Cuchillos Cubanos.

Dude, the Cuchillos Cubanos are awesome! Well, I liked them anyway. I'd never have guessed it was mixed filler if I didn't already know, but I'd definately have guessed it was a Dion smoke!

Mine got harsh about 2/3 of the way through, but I only let them sit 3 weeks or so. Even so, at retail price these things are an insane bargain, imvho. I liked it much better than the Tat Series P, though I like those too.

Hmm, that makes total sense actually. I should get some of these, then, as often times the fuller-bodied smokes do tend to get a little "muddy" to me. I still love many of them (like the 601 Green I had last night), but I also find that medium-bodied sticks have flavors that are easier for me to pick out.

My local B&M has them, I just forgot to pick-up a box the last time I was there, and about the MJ12, The Mad Bomber (shuckins) sent me one, I just haven't picked the right moment to try it yet.

Thats my fav as far as now. Ive only tried the F9, but I like the cg4 better. Waiting on an 888 to finish getting dressed in my humi so I can take her outside.
