Is it Nicaraguan
The other day I am in my B&M and the manager who by the way I introduced Illusione's to tells me "You have to smoke this stick! You like Cuban's right? Well this is a "Cuban Killer".
His input plus the hype being spread on this stick made me say I'd give it a try. So I pluck down $28.55 for two! Head home and lay it to rest for a couple of days.
Well, today was that day.
Based on my wanting to give this a real review I had my breakfast, a cup off Starbuck's Tribute (wanted to have something on the stomach in order to really rate it). Brushed the teeth, ate an orange and swished with some Club Soda. I did not want anything to interfere with my being able to discern tasting this stick.
Here we go...
I sniff the foot and the entire length of the stick and I am captured by the sweet tobacco profile. I clip the head and the draw is sweet to the taste and I am ready for pleasure.
The stick lights like a charm, the combustion was so smooth I was amazed. Right from the start this ting is putting out copious amounts of smoke, so much so that I had to open the door to the garage to let some of it escape. The flavors of honey and apricot are very definite to me. The first third more than lived up to the hype.
Second third, the stick remained sweet for the most part, the retrohale exhibited a wee bit of spice and the complexity was starting to show off. The body was medium all the while the flavors ranged from raw honey, to a subtle peach, to a robust nutmeg. Talk about a cornucopia of flavors. Indeed, a little bit of cigar heaven here on earth.
Last third, started to have a problem with keeping it lit, had to purge a couple of times and re-light. In a quirky kinda way this was a good thing. For when I purged the stick the honey like flavors reappeared with fervor. All the way to the nub this was a tremendous experience. All I can say is that I am gonna let the other one rest a minute and if it is anywhere near as consistent, I'll make run in the humi for 15!
Just my $ .02
