  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In New Orleans, Feb. 25-27

Beware of alot of the shops who's whole store is the humidor! They are either too humidified (its real humid at times down here), or they are dried out and not cared for. These are tourist traps and I will walk right out of them!

My faves
Cresent City Cigars. Small shop, quite, nice selection. Has some good pipe baccy and pipes too. For being a half block off Bourbon, Armando has great prices. This is my #1 stop every time I'm in NOLA.

Dos Jefes is a cool place too. We had a Twitter herf there during IPCPR. Nice bar, decent selection of a cigars, and nice selection of spirits. Just a little ways out of the hustle & bustle of the French Quarter. About 10 minutes off of Canal St.

The Cigar Factory on Decatur is a MUST STOP! They roll thier own cigars and always have about 3 or more rollers rolling right in the smoking area. There is a shop on Bourbon, but not as cool as the one on Decatur. The shop is kind of hidden from site, but if you hit Decatur off Canal and head east, it will be on your right at the "Y" in the road. Get a few Tres Hermanos. Smoke one then and the other a year or so later. Great smoke, even better with some age.

Don Leoncio Cigars is on Canal street toward the end by Harrah's casino. If you want a PDR... they got it. I beleive the owner is related to PDR owner. They have a bar, smoking area, and nice humidor. The music can be loud on the radio in there at times though.

Don Juans in Mettarie is about 20 minutes from the French Quarter. Has an extensive selection of cigars, pipe baccy, and a decent smoking area. It can be tricky to find, but nice stop if your in the area. Its behind the Lakeside Mall, which there is a well stocked Tinder Box in.

Enjoy our 90% humidity!

Go to Habana Port in Covington, LA. Its across the causeway across lake Ponchatrain. Its about 30-45 minutes north of NOLA. on Causeway BLVD; behind Walmart and Home Depot.

Hit up the Cigar Factory New Orleans. They make three different house blends and they are great. Plus you need to try the Big Easy cigar. It is 7x60. It is a jaw breaker but still a good smoke.

Trip was great but unfortunately i messed up my knee, small tendon tear. So wasn't able to make it out cigar factory but burning man did pick me up a couple to try down the road.
Sorry about your knee. What happened? On another note you can purchase some from their site if you like what burning man gives ya.

Just one of those freak things walking back to the hotel stepped on some stupid beads, felt ankle twist then knee popped and couldn't put weight on it.
