  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In the market for a good cutter

Well after 5-6 years of cigar smoking I think I can finally justify putting some real money out for a proper cutter and a lighter as opposed to buying a cheap $5 cutter that I have to replace every year and using what ever butane flame is lying around the house.

Suggestions?

there is a palio camp and a xikar camp as far as cutters go. each will tell you theirs is the best. try them out and see what fits your hand and feels most comfortable.
lighters are tougher. plus they seem to be much easier to lose!

Palio is great. But if you loose your cutters like I do stick with the cheap ones.
If you end up getting a lighter Blazer little buddy.

I have never tried a Palio, but I got a Xikar and love it. I honestly could not believe how great it cut, as I was using another cutter forever. Plus if the cutter gets dull you can send it back to Xikar and they will sharpen it for free, lifetime warranty.

I am offering a free cigar stand with a palio purchase. I could sub in 2 Ronson torches insteadd of the stand. do a search for ronson, they are awesome

I have no experience with Palio. I've had no problems with my Xikar cutter. Have used the warranty on my Xikar lighter once absolutely no problem getting my replacement either, just went to a retailer and they swapped it out.

my .02 worth. I have a palio, xikar and colibri cutter. Of the three the palio is the most used. I have had it for a couple of months and really like it (and the stand from RonC) the xikar comes in second. The palio just seems to slice the cigar like warm butter and it has a great look and feel. I have had the xikar for a few years and have sent it in once to be sharpened but other than that I have had no issues with it. As for a lighter, I found a torch on e**y for $3 that has a large tank and works just fine.

The deal Ron is offering is a steal. The Ronson and Palio will set you for years if not a lifetime. Xicar in the car gets used once a month. Palio gets used daily.
