  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

In the market for a good cutter

Yeah the carbon fiber look is SHARP! Girlfriend is gonna get me one for my birhday coming up I think. She asked about them while I was doing my research on it - she could care less otherwise. Keeping my fingers crossed for a new Palio!

I'd recomend a Xikar MTX or a Palio.
I agree this way you have scissors and the best cutter. I have the pailo , xikar cutter and xikar multi tool scissors. Of the three the pailo offers the best cleanest cut by far and the xikar scissors are great scissors. I would go with Ron's Pailo deal thats a great deal and Ron is a great guy! Good luck :cbig:

Flip a coin on witch cuter to buy. I have both, and I love them both. If I would have to choose it would be Palio. As for as RonC he’s a great brother with a lot of knowledge.

I currently own
a Palio
Xikar X1
Xikar X2
Xikar MTX
Cheap punch

At this point I use
the Palio for Standard head cigars (great for sliping the cap off)
the X1 for Torpedo Head cigars (Great for cross cutting the palio gets too thick for a clean cross cut)
the scissors for anything (this is on my keychain)
the X2 for a paper weight as this is all that is good for. When the blades come together in that plastic piece of crap they have a small gap. I have replaced this cutter numerous times and always have the same outcome.
As for the punch I never really got used to it.

I also have both and while both are great I really like my palio the best. Be perpared for a little roughness around the molding lines. I cleaned mine up with a little fine sand paper and it smooth as a baby's butt now.

i got the xikar slim line cutter as i tend to smoke bigger guages, and the lighter that they go with that has the magnet in it to hold the cutter. i loose alot of little things and i have yet to miss place my set. also when i am smoking at my friend petes cigar shop even though he has a ton of cutters when ever he is doing the cutting on a customers cigar he always grabs my cutter.

Well thanks all for your input, learned allot about cutters in my quest but in the end I decided to go with RonC's Palio deal, I can't wait to play with my new toys!

Palio. This cutter is wonderful. It cuts perfect everytime and the only cutter I will ever use. A lighter is preference though. I personally love my Dupont Xtend Torches.
