  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I had an opportunity to play Glen Garden yesterday.

It's a rather unassuming course, not too tough (6166 yds from the tips 66.3/109), but the history is what made it so interesting. It was built in 1912, and it's where Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson and Sandra Palmer all learned the game. Nelson and Hogan were rival caddies there in the 20's.

Any other interesting courses in your area?

Up in Columbus we've got Scioto Country Club, which is about as exclusive as you can get. They played one of the first US Opens there. Beautiful course pretty much right in the heart of Columbus. We've also got Muirfield, which i played for $12 when i was in high school. Jack used to host a summer event their for kids.

We've got a couple courses that have made it onto Golf Digests Topp 100 new courses at various times...Longaberger and Cook's Creek.

The only one i haven't played is Scioto. i've got a better chance of getting on pennsylvania's Oakmont before getting on Scioto.

Need to contact these people again, but were itching to get out and play this new tract.

That place looks AWESOME!!! Very cool story the way it came about. And once the word really gets out, i think he'll be able to charge whatever he want if he plays off the whole mystique and intrigue card.

Looks very nice.

We have a very, very cool course here in Maryland where each of the holes are replicas of famous holes from various courses.

From their website:

"Each of Renditions eighteen holes is a replica of a hole from a golf course that has hosted one or more of golf’s four major championships: The Masters, The U.S. Open, The British Open and The PGA Championship, plus a hole from The Players Championship, golf’s "fifth major.""

It's real cool....click

Now that would be a fun course to play...some of the best holes form some of the best courses. Next time i'm in the area i may have to make it a point to play that course.

Hey Bball.

Hope your still planning to come up with your bro in September. You had said he knew of a few good ones here. What courses was he talking about? There are quite a bit of nice ones.

There is a "must play" course up north but it's 4 hours from my place. It's called Arcadia Bluffs. I play it twice a year. It is a mirror of Whistling Straights right on the lake.

LMK.

Your starting the "headgames" a little soon, aren't you?

I've played International World Tour in Myrtle Beach, same type of course with renditions of famous holes.

The course here is within 2 hours from home. Might be worth the trip.

In my area, Scotland Run is a great golf course. My dad works there.

The courses down near Atlantic City are real nice too. Blue Heron, Harbour Pines, McCulloughs Links, Twisted Dunes. Twisted Dunes is a treat. Hard enough from the daily tees but the tips stretch the course to over 7,600 yards.
