As I have mentioned previously, the Curivari brand is a small outfit from Esteli. I had never heard of them before, but after having smoked a few of their cigars I am glad that I found them.
The next cigar from Curivari up for review is the Reserva Limitada Cafe. This one in particular is close to a robusto format...it is 5x52, I believe. This cigar is a medium to full body cigar. It is a nice cafe brown wrapper, which is slightly oily, and has minimal veins.
Upon cutting with my Palio, I could taste coffee and leather on the prelight draw. The smoke from the first third indeed had that same roast coffee flavor, mixed with leather. There was also a pleasant level of pepper on the back end.
The second third of the cigar brought about a dominant flavor of dark chocolate. The coffee and leather were more subdued, but still present. The finish on each puff had hints of pepper and cedar.
The rest of the cigar had a leather and wood flavor up front. The pepper jumped out a little more, and the dark chocolate and coffee moved into the background.
The burn on this cigar was practically straight the whole time. The ash was fairly white as it burned, taking on a darker gray color as it sat. The cigar lasted 90 minutes in total.
This is another of the Curivari line that I was impressed with. So far, all three of the Curivari cigars have been good. The Gloria de Leon being my favorite, followed by this Reserva Limitada.
